Accessibility

OurSpace LLC wants this website and the OurSpace apps to be usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, switch devices, magnification, or reduced-motion settings. Our target for this website is WCAG 2.1 level AA.
This website
Every page has a skip link, a logical heading order, and text alternatives for images (decorative images are marked as such). Every link, button, and form field has a visible focus indicator and a text label. Color contrast on every text and control pairing has been measured against WCAG 2.1 AA, and the site respects your system's reduced-motion setting: with it on, nothing animates. The page works at phone widths without sideways scrolling, and nothing on the site requires a mouse.
Known limits: the site is available in a dark color scheme only, and the animated headings on the home page use a decorative blinking cursor that stops after a few seconds (and never starts if you prefer reduced motion). We also have not yet had the site tested by people who rely on assistive technology day to day; if that is you and you are willing, we would value your feedback.
The apps
The OurSpace apps for iOS and Android are early-beta software built by one person, and their accessibility is a work in progress. Text sizing follows your system settings, light mode was reworked to meet contrast standards, and screen-reader labels exist on core screens, but we know there are gaps. We fix accessibility problems as bugs, not as feature requests, and you can raise them the same way as any other problem.
Tell us about a problem
If any part of this site or the apps is hard or impossible for you to use, email contact@joinourspace.org and tell us what you were trying to do, what device and assistive technology you use, and what happened. A human reads every message and will reply. If something on the site is blocking you right now, say so and we will find you another way to do it.
